hi, when i install lubuntu, the default resolution is 1680x1050, is there anyway that i can set it to 1680x1040, or 1920x1080?

xidikj, in a terminal, type this: sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
use your sudo password
look for the line that says driver
if it says "nvidia", then just change that to "nv"

if you're using nvidia then change the driver to nv, and if you're using intel then change the driver to i915

kmck, The actual install is what I have seen as a general noob image, so I have no idea what the setup is.
wilee-nilee: i am in ubuntu (gnome 3) now. i just got rid of unity. is that the problem?
